Protein that already lives in your kitchen.
You do not need a powder to “hit protein.” You need to notice the yogurt, cheese, beans, eggs, and fish you already buy.
English-language fitness internet has convinced a generation that protein is a product. The Damascene and wider Arab kitchen has been quietly adequate at this for a long time: labneh, yogurt, white cheese, eggs, lentils, chickpeas, fava, fish, meat when it is there. The gap is usually not shopping. It is distribution. All the protein at lunch. Tea for breakfast. Rice alone at night.
A practical inventory
- Labneh or yogurt at breakfast is not a trend. It is a protein with calcium, which is what Samar has already taught in public: اللبن يحتوي على الكالسيوم.
- Lentil soup, foul, and hummus are not “sides.” They are doing the job a chicken breast is often hired to do.
- Cheese on the table is not a failure of purity. It is a tool. The question is how much, and what else is there.
- A powder is optional. It is not more professional. It is more packaged.
Spreading protein across the day is one of the quietest upgrades a household can make. It steadies energy. It makes the rice plate feel finished. It is also, for many families, simply putting the yogurt bowl back where it used to be.
Before you add a product, name the protein that is already in the refrigerator.
Kitchen notes are public education. They are not a personal nutrition plan and they do not replace a visit with a registered dietitian or your physician.
